4: Rain

Rain is the oldest song on this collection. I wrote it for a girl when I was 18. She wasn’t that taken with the song, and as it turned out, she wasn’t that taken with me! I wrote it in 1985 and it was among the first bunch of songs played in the various incarnations of The Tender Trap. This recording was produced by Chris Fallon at Myco Music in early 1989. It features Mark Walshe on lead guitar and backing vocals, Simon Lomond on drums and Andy MacDonald on bass. A more polished version was later recorded during our tenure on the French record label Musidisc - and was consequently stripped of any charm it may have once possessed.
